In november 2006, Japan's Kansai University founded the Japan-EU Research Center at its sister institution, the Catholic University of Leuven.

Naast een huisgebrouwen handboek voor de geschiedenis van Japan werken studenten en docenten sinds 2005 samen aan een wiki-project. Het doel is het handboek aan te vullen met meer details, illustraties, hyperlinks en al het moois dat het web te bieden heeft.

Let's Manga

2007~

Let's Manga was oorspronkelijk een onderzoeks- en implementatieproject met als doel het gebruik van manga als leermateriaal in het curriculum van Japanse studies te promoten. 

Ondertussen is het gegroeid tot een volwaardig onderzoeksinstituut met een eigen manga-bibliotheek, onderzoeksondersteuning...

Japans-Nederlands woordenboek

2001~

Oorspronkelijk was het Japans-Nederlands woordenboek een onderdeel van een onderwijsinnovatieproject van de Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, waarvan de subsidiëringsperiode eindigde op 1 augustus 2004.
