Why would we try to use manga in university courses?

Gene Yang offers a very concise and clear explanation of the strengths of comic books as a learning tool. Excellent for those who are unfamiliar with comics/manga except as divertisement for children and want to know what all the fuss is about.

Welcome to the website of Let's Manga, a research and implementation project of Catholic University of Leuven's Japanese Studies program. The purpose of this website is twofold: to support the use of manga as learning materials in our Japanese Studies courses, and to offer online research aids and support to anyone interested in researching manga and Japanese popular culture.
