"Japonica in the Archives of the Royal Palace" is the first online result of a digitization project called Japonica in Belgian Archives. The aim is to list and open as much as possible unpublished Japan-related materials in Belgian archives.

The Archives of the Royal Palace hold 29 Japan-related dossiers, with various content: photo-collections, correspondance, request for audiences, telegrams, etc. All materials come from the archives of the first four kings of Belgium: Leopold I, Leopold II, Albert I and Leopold III; covering the period 1865 to 1935.
